A nicely laid out double page spread, with penciler notations written in the margin areas of the page, letting the color seperators know that it was intended for them to 'add' stars into the black areas of the page. some color seperators would use that oportunity to showcase their own individuak abitities in creating photo- realistic stars. Liquid and Bo succesfully used such oportunities to demonstrait said talents, such as the cover to Avengelyne: Armageddon #2, or the promotional piece for Alpha Flight.
